UPDATE - MARCH 17 2020
Members and Friends,
Thank you for your warm responses to our difficult decision earlier this week. No one wanted to see our season end this way, least of all, us.
In our original message we decided to allow members to come to Curl Sudbury to clean out their lockers at selected hours from Tuesday to Thursday this week. With the State of Emergency Declaration earlier this morning, we are going to back away from this decision and close the club to the public effective immediately. We will re-evaluate our position on March 31st or when the State of Emergency is lifted.
Thank you again for your patience and understanding as we adapt to the hour-by-hour evolution of the COVID-19 situation.
Stay healthy, stay safe and wash your hands.
Board of Directors
Members & Friends,
It is with you, our staff and visitors in mind that the Curl Sudbury Board of Directors has unanimously decided to close for the remainder of the season to minimize exposure and transmission risk of COVID-19.
We want to emphasize that a community like ours is only as strong and healthy as its members and while this announcement may be seen as drastic, we feel the need to be flexible in these unprecedented times. This is a step that we believe is socially responsible.
To do our part in “flattening the curve” of COVID-19, Curl Sudbury will be closed on Monday, March 16th. Curl Sudbury will be open Tuesday – Friday from 10am-2pm & 5pm-7pm for members to retrieve their equipment and clean out their lockers and pay their bar tabs. Events booked are cancelled during this period. “The Spiel” has been postponed until October 2-4. This decision was not made lightly and does have a financial impact on us. Information will soon be available regarding how you can help us offset the revenue we will be missing out on from the busiest time of our year.
We understand that this announcement will be disappointing, but we feel that this decision best protects the staff, members and guests of Curl Sudbury.
We encourage our membership to please alert other members and teammates about this development. Please follow advice from public health agencies and wash your hands frequently. We ask for your patience and understanding as we continue to monitor COVID-19 and evaluate its impact on us and our community. We will keep you at the forefront of communication as the situation evolves. Now more than ever, it’s important that we stick together – even if it’s while we’re apart.
Everyone, please take care and stay healthy.
Board of Directors
