New For 2021-2022 Season

The Board has been working hard these past few months. They have been meeting bi-weekly to come up with a strategy to best move forward after COVID-19 that will best benefit the members and the Club. Read below to see what they have been working on.

Semester-Based Curling Season:

Introducing a semester-based season.

All Curl Sudbury Leagues (Open/Scramble League, Competitive, Doubles, Afternoon Ladies, and Friday Mixed) will be billed on a semester basis. We will run 3 semesters, Fall, Winter and Spring.

This billing and scheduling approach to the curling season will allow members to have an increased flexibility to customize their curling schedule. Members will now be able to mix and match when they curl to match their personal schedule at all times of the year. Players and teams can register for 1, 2, or all 3 semesters. Leagues may schedule draws in the semester as they see fit.

Fall Semester - October 4 - November 26

  • Each league with the exception of Friday Mixed will have 8 week of play.
  • Friday Mixed will have 6 weeks.

Winter Semester - November 29 - January 28

  • Each league with the exception of Friday Mixed will have 8 week of play.
  • Friday Mixed will have 6 weeks.

Spring Semester - January 31 - April 8

  • Each league with the exception of Friday Mixed will have 8 week of play.
  • Friday Mixed will have 6 weeks.

This new system will allow a yearly total of:

  • Total of 24 weeks of play for Open/Scramble League, Competitive, Doubles and Afternoon Ladies.
  • Total of 18 weeks of play for Friday Mixed (increase of 2 weeks compared to previous years)
